Hey!  I'm A.L. Thornton, author, grandmother, mother, and wife.  For years I had dreamed of writing book and in 2021 I was given that opportunity.  While homeschooling my grandson I needed something to help keep him working and me busy.  I took some on-line classes managing to obtain certifications in Cryptozoology, Hypnotherapy, and Herbalism.  During that time I discovered a band called Heavy Horses.  I loved their brand of Gothic Country and found myself starting to daydream to some of the songs wondering What if?  This lead to my first series, Cursed Unit.  The books seemed to flow from my fingers first in a notebook with a pen and then onto my computer.  After hours of writing came the fun part, editing.  I not only do all of the writing with assistance from translators for foreign languages (primarily DeepL and Yardix) but I also do my own editing.  Each book is the product of hours of reading, writing, rewriting, and more editing before they are published.  I must give my husband, mother, and sister credit though, without them pushing me I probably would never have actually self published on Amazon.  When not writing my time is taken with creating my own soaps, clothing, weaving, mixing household cleaners, cooking, baking, etc.  I have too many hobbies to actually list out and seem to have a problem with adding more.  In addition to my writing and hobbies I also help on our homestead and with the three dogs and two cats as well as any construction projects and hopefully in the near future chickens.
